Homestead Exemption Outreach

The Property Appraiser's staff will take your 2024 homestead exemption application and answer valuation questions.

Every person who has legal title on January 1 to a residential property and lives there permanently qualifies. You may either apply by mail or in person at any time, but the deadline is March 1 of the qualifying year.

A copy of your deed and proof of residency is required: copy of Florida driver's license, vehicle registration, and voter's card (if you vote). If not a US citizen a permanent residency card is required (Federal Form I485 also accepted).

Exemptions available include: $25,000 Homestead Exemption, Additional $25,000 Homestead Exemption, Senior Citizen Exemption, $5,000 Disabled Veterans Exemption, Combat-disabled Senior Veterans, and the $500 Widow/Widower Exemption.
