Early Life

Mike is no stranger to Atlantis. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, he lived in Sioux City, Iowa until he was 8. His family moved to Atlantis in 1970, and he’s been here ever since. His mother has resided in the same home on Sudbury Drive for nearly 50 years.

Education

Mike graduated from Lake Worth High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

Professional Career

His professional career has continued with Michael B. Schorah and Associates, Inc, Civil Engineers, Surveyors, Land Development Consultants, for over 30 years. Mike currently serves as Managing Principal with the title Senior Vice President. Mike previously served for six years on the Board of Directors at Lake Worth Christian School, the final four as President. Prior City of Atlantis volunteer opportunities included six years of service on the Board of Adjustment.

Community Involvement

Mike is honored by his position as Councilman and hopes to bring to the community what “fathers-in-the-neighborhood” brought to Atlantis as servants on the City Council. Atlantis has always enjoyed a family atmosphere in our safe and well-maintained community.

As he learned early from his parents and the neighborhood-at-large, protection of our investments through actions that support property values is one of three pillars that make our City great. This, along with the other two pillars - safety and community involvement/participation - support our pleasant way of life.

Serving on the Council provides an opportunity to continue the servant spirit set forth by his predecessors.
